About Us
Our Story Owners MaryAnn Durborrow and Tim Reichert became family friends when their youngest children (now adults) started playing youth hockey together in Raleigh. Although MaryAnn has owned/operated several businesses, she never embraced the craft beer industry. With a little encouragement, MaryAnn tried the Hefeweizen and Pomegranate Honey Witbier and she was a believer. MaryAnn and Tim began working diligently to make the dream a reality. With help from many friends, co-workers, and family members; the Fainting Goat Brewing Company opened its doors on October 8th, 2015 and continues to brew high-quality, handcrafted beer in small batches. Why Fainting Goat-No Laughing Matter A few years before opening the brewery, it was discovered that Tim "suffers" from a condition called Laughter Induced Syncope (fainting). This condition is exactly what it sounds like. Tim's friends eventually nicknamed him the fainting goat, and would often attempt to encourage his fainting spells. Branding a brewery is no easy task, and much to their delight, there was no other Fainting Goat Brewing Company in existence. |
